The Tegernsee Valley

The Tegernsee Valley is located about 60 km south of Munich embedded in a beautiful mountain landscape in the foothills of the Alps. Depending on your condition, you can enjoy nature at a mountain hike, a gentle hike or a wonderful walk in the valley or on the lakeshore. Hiking .. as far as the feet carry ... and the way back then too far, you can use all buses in the Tegernsee valley for free. From Wallberg (1722 m), which you can reach by funicular, you have a panoramic view of the Tegernsee valley up in the Central Alps. In winter you have a lot of fun on Germany's longest toboggan run. With a boat trip on Lake Tegernsee can also be reached by water, the other surrounding places Bad Wiessee, Gmund and Tegernsee. Try your luck at the casino in Bad Wiessee. In Tegernsee is the former monastery brewery and Bräustüberl. A stop is mandatory and provides Bavarian hospitality and snack, white sausage, Bierbratl or Hax'n. Something quiet it is in Kreuth valley, the fifth place on the Tegernsee. Whether you are cycling in the Weissachauen past the Hans Seidel Foundation and the Kreuther fish farming or on a hike to Hirschberg or Leonhardstein you spend another eventful day. Here are also located in beautiful sunny winter trails and toboggan runs

The numerous lake bays, the heated Warmbad Rottach-Egern and many water sports facilities provide recreation and relaxation.
Direction Enterrottach, not far away from your vacation home, the guesthouse Pfatischer is the hiking and skiing area Sutten-Spitzing. Even mountain bikers will get their satisfaction. If you want higher up you bring the new 4-seater chairlift in the mountains of Spitzingsee area and you walk in the footsteps of Bear Bruno until the next mountain snack station.  Recently, the Natural cheese dairy Tegernsee country has opened its doors and invites you to visit and taste the numerous specialties.
One could mention so much ... but do not you come by yourself, take a look and enjoy the most beautiful area in Bavaria.

A look outside of the Tegernsee valley worthwhile. Other lakes waiting for you to be discovered. A trip to Schliersee, Spitzingsee, Silvenstein-reservoir, Kochelsee (Herzogstand) or Achensee in Tyrol  is also recommended as a trip to the slightly more distant Walchensee, Starnberger- Ammer (Kloster Andechs) or Chiemsee (Herrenchiemsee Castle.
They will collect on the trip by car or bicycle through the meadows, forests and villages of the Upper Lands with its flower-decorated houses many impressions of Customs, the country and the people. Guests can relax in the beer garden of a Bavarian guest house or stroll located at the Isar through the historic old town of Bad Tolz. Either way, the return to Tegernsee on Gut Kaltenbrunn, located on the northern shore with its magnificent view over the whole lake forms the crowning finale.

The Tegerseer Valley and its geographic location at the edge of the Alps is the ideal starting point for day trips and motorbike tours over alpine passes to Austria and South Tyrol.

Visit Munich, the cosmopolitan city with heart. Whether shopping, theaters, museums, or the Oktoberfest. The cities of Salzburg, Innsbruck or Garmisch Partenkirchen are not much further away and also recommendable for a visit.

Other worthwhile destinations are:

• Silvenstein - Closely with maple back is a splendid plateau with impressive mountain scenery
• Glentleiten Open Air Museum, the rural life in Upper Bavaria or Markus Wasmeier FARM and Wintersportsmuseum in Schliersee
• The Schliersee with Wasmeier Farm Museum or continue to Bayrischzell and Wendelstein with its cog railway.
• Tyrol across the Achensee to the Zillertal in the medieval town of Rattenberg or the road this weekend for the Hintertux Glacier.
• Castle Tratzberg in Jenbach and the Silver Mine to Wattens

•  Garmisch-Partenkirchen Germany with the highest mountain of the Zugspitze and the wildly romantic Partnachklamm, near Ettal Abbey
• Neuschwanstein, the fairytale castle of King Ludwig II in a fantastic area
• Linderhof Palace, the magnificent royal villa with large park
• Königsee, the romantically situated mountain lake in Berechtsgaden Country
• The Wies Church, the Sanctuary is a jewel of Rococo and World Heritage
• City of Dachau, a small town north of Munich with lock and concentration camp memorial
• Chiemsee with the Herrenchiemsee castle, the Bavarian castle was modeled in honor of the Sun King the Palace of Versailles.
• In Tirol Innsbruck towards the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, a trip to the silver mine in Schwaz is on the way.
• Innsbruck with its old town and the Golden Roof, Alpenzoo and visit just a short drive to Wattens to the Swarovski Crystal Worlds
